Commissions
The Commission Process
My approach to commissioned pieces is fairly unique. When working with buyers to create a unique piece, the process involves soliciting input regarding palette, subject, and mood like in my other pieces. We work to determine the ideal dimensions of the canvas for the specific space in your home or corporate interior.
Commissions are successful when the all piece comes together: the decisions made along the way in modifying palette, composition, and perspective. Below is an example of the process:
Step 1 // The Prep Work
Following your initial email, we will meet to discuss your goals and ideas for composition, subject, and color palette preferences for your unique piece. I'll create a buyer's preview page and send you a link following this meeting for your reference during the commission process.

Step 2 // Sizing Mockups
Following discussions about composition, subject, palette, we experiment with sizing mockups to determine the ideal canvas size for the intended space.

Step 3 // Composition Sketches
Following the determination of dimensions, I work up graphite sketches of proposed compositions. Typically two or three sketches are created based on our conversations about the general composition you prefer.

Step 4 // Painting Your Piece
Once you have decided which composition you prefer, I begin painting. The finished painting is presented along with all previous sketches and sizing mockup's on the buyer's preview page.
When the piece is complete, the buyer must love it before committing to it. If you don't, no problem! We will discuss why, and begin work on a new piece.

Step 5 // Shipping and Installation
Once the buyer has committed to the final piece, we will make arrangements for shipping or delivery (delivery only available within Fraser Valley, BC). All pieces are equipped with d-hook and wire hanging hardware for ease of installation in its intended space. All pieces arrive unframed with painted edges, unless otherwise discussed.
